• understand, in aggregate, how the Platform is used so we can improve it (where enabled).

3. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These are required for the Platform to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include authentication cookies and tokens from Firebase Authentication that keep you signed in, and security tokens from reCAPTCHA / Firebase App Check that protect the site from automated abuse.

Preferences

These remember choices you make. For example, we store your selected language (an "eh_locale" value in your browser’s local storage) so the site opens in the right language, and we may remember your saved favourites on your device.

Measurement (where enabled)

If and where we enable analytics, these help us understand aggregate usage — such as which pages are popular — so we can improve the Platform. We aim to use privacy-friendly measurement and do not use these to identify you personally.

4. Third-party services

Some cookies and tokens are set by the services that power the Platform:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, hosting and core functionality;
• Google reCAPTCHA / Firebase App Check — protection against bots and abuse;
• MapLibre / MapTiler — interactive maps that display property locations.

These providers process data under their own privacy terms and act as our processors where they handle data on our behalf.

5. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies or to refuse them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Platform — such as signing in — from working. To learn how to manage cookies, check your browser’s help pages.
