Where to rent in Tbilisi

Vake and Vera are favourites for their cafés, parks and walkability; Saburtalo offers good value and metro access; and Old Tbilisi (Sololaki, Mtatsminda) suits those who want character and a central location. Gldani and Isani are the most budget-friendly, while still connected by metro.

For a longer stay, look at the total monthly cost — utilities and heating in winter can add up — and check whether the apartment is furnished, as many in Tbilisi are.

Renting as a foreigner

Foreigners can rent freely in Georgia. Leases are usually signed for six or twelve months, commonly with one month’s deposit. It helps to agree in writing who covers utilities, building fees and minor repairs before you move in.
